Save Money and Golf More with a Discount Greens Fee Membership

I've found a really good deal with Golf Card that has a huge directory of more than 3,400 golf courses throughout the United States and offers discount green fees or two-for-one discount deals.
The cost of greens fees goes up every year and if you don't watch out, you can pay more than you need to for every round of golf.
Just add up what it costs to play one round each week for 20 weeks a year. $50 to $75 for greens fees. $20 to $30 for a cart. That ranges from $1,400 to $2,100 for a year. If you really love golf like I do, you probably want to play two or three times a week, if your money goes that far.
You CAN SAVE MONEY with Gold Card. Here is what I like and don't like about Golf Card.
What I Like
1. I like the wide range of golf courses available through this program. With over 3,700 courses I can find something, somewhere that will save me money. I like to travel and play different courses and I like to play local courses that are close to where I live. With Golf Card , I can pick and choose what I want from a large list.
2. I like the search function on Golf Card online directory. What I like most is that I can search that directory even before I sign up, so I can see where the courses are. For example, I live in Streamwood, IL. Within 50 miles, there are 122 golf courses in the golf network. That is a lot! And some of my favorite courses are listed.

When I plan a long weekend out of town, I can see which courses are in the network where I can save money, too.
3. It is easy to save money. With Golf Card , even if I play only 2 times at any of these courses, I've paid for my membership. I like the membership cost - it is slightly over $4 a month for a year - $49 total. And it comes with a number of discounts on golf vacation packages. I think this is a great bargain, because I know what it costs to "play and stay" at some of these resorts. With Golf Card, it makes a vacation a lot more affordable.
4. Golf Card membership lasts all year round. As long as the golf courses are open, you can get the discount they offer. That is a lot better than some coupon books and other discounted greens fee programs that have a short season (June through August) or low season (before May, after September) program. I can pick my dates well in advance and schedule tee times that fit my calendar.
5. I like the longevity of Golf Card and its guarantee. In the first year, I can get my money back if I am not satisfied. Golf Card has been in business for 30 years and has hundreds of thousands of satisfied golfers use their program. Who can argue with that kind of success?
6. Golf Card offers a lot of bonuses that you don't get with other programs, like free product testing, updated directories, discounted weekend play at most courses, and more. Many programs offer weekday discounts and ignore weekends. That's when you pay more, so Golf Card does it right.
What I Don't Like About Golf Card
1. Not all of my favorite courses are listed.
I guess that is the problem with every directory of discount golf card programs. Not every course is listed, especially the ones I really would like to play at a discount. I guess the consolation is that enough of my favorites are there as well as new courses I haven't played yet.
2. I have to use my computer to look up the Golf Network.
It is a lot easier when I keep a discounted green fee coupon book in my golf bag. I can look through the book, see what coupons are left, pull one out when I pay for my golf. With Golf Card , I have to look online for what I want. That's OK if I have access to my PC and printer, harder when I don't.

Our Rating:
Overall, Golf Card offers a very good value for the money. You get access to a lot of golf courses and can save several hundred dollars if you are an avid golfer. Especially if you take friends, customers or family golfing. Bottom line, if you want to play good courses that have high greens fees or even save money playing some of your favorite courses, or if you plan a golf vacation, Golf Card is quite a bargain!
